How to layout your display frames
Choosing how to arrange your display frames can transform your trading card collection into a visually stunning masterpiece.
We've put together a few creative patterns and arrangements for hanging display frames on your wall, providing inspiration for collectors looking to showcase their cards in style.
Decide your orientation:
Because Display frames are hexagons, they have two main ways of being displayed… Pointy side up, or flat side up. We designed Display trading card frames to work either way. The magnets that hold the inner circles in place can be orientated to account for the direction you choose. simply rotate the inner circle 90 degrees anti--clockwise or clockwise to choose your preferred orientation.
The orientation you choose will affect the direction of the connecting Display frames so choose wisely for your individual space. (It’s mostly down to personal preference, but we’ll give recommendations below)
Decide your pattern:
Honeycomb Cluster
Embrace the natural geometry of hexagons by arranging your frames in a honeycomb cluster. Group frames closely together with the pointy side up, leave a 1-2cm gap if you wish or place them edge to edge, and create a visually dynamic arrangement reminiscent of a beehive. This pattern adds depth and texture to your display, making it a focal point in any room.
Grid Layout
The classic grid layout offers a timeless and organised display. Arrange your Display frames in a perfect grid pattern, utilising the flat side up orientation, creating a clean and symmetrical look on your wall. This arrangement is ideal for collectors who prefer a straightforward and structured presentation of their trading cards.
Staggered Formation
For a more dynamic and playful display, consider arranging your frames in a staggered formation. Alternate the height and position of each hexagon frame, creating an asymmetrical yet balanced arrangement on your wall. This layout adds visual interest and movement to your display, drawing the eye to different focal points.
Grouped Stagger
Alternatively, Group your fames into 2 or three and stagger the groups to create opportunity for evolution line display such as Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard from Pokemon TCG.
Random Scatter
Embrace chaos and madness by scattering your display frames randomly across your wall. Mix and match frame orientations, allowing for an eclectic display of your trading cards. Who are we to tell you what to do, you’re a free spirit… go crazy…just chuck them at the wall and see where they stick. (Please don’t do this, it looks awful... this is a joke, for the love of Arceus, please no)
Symmetrical Symphonies
Create harmony and balance on your wall by arranging your frames in symmetrical symphonies. Experiment with mirror-image patterns or radial arrangements, playing with symmetry and repetition to achieve a visually pleasing display. This pattern adds a sense of order and elegance to your collection, making it a sophisticated focal point in any space.
Geometric Patterns
Explore the world of geometric patterns by arranging your frames in intricate designs such as chevrons, diamonds, or spirals. Experiment with overlapping hexagons and negative space to create captivating optical illusions and patterns on your wall. This arrangement adds a modern and artistic flair to your trading card display.
Top tips for displaying with Aesthetic
- Add a space between each frame, this can be done by using the packaging of the display tile either the edge or using a box as a spacer hexagon.
- Fit the pattern to the space: If you have a tall space, try a vertical alignment, if its a long and short space, try horizontal.
- Group Display tiles together with card types: If you have a group of cards you wish to display, such as an evolution line, try connecting tiles together and create a larger gap before the next group.
