Artist highlight - Our top 5 'Okacheke' Pokémon artworks
Display Artist Highlight - Okacheke ( おかちぇけ)
We're starting off out artist highlight with none other than Okacheke, one of our favourite card art artists 👨🎨!
A little history
Okacheke works as a freelance artist based in Japan, where he was a semi-finalist in the Pokémon Card Game Illustration Grand Prix with his Slowpoke Submission.
Since then, Okacheke started submitting official atwork in the Sword & Shield - Chilling reign expansion set. Starting with Ice Rider Calyrex V, Shuppet, and Skwovet.

Okacheke would later go onto officially illustrate Slowpoke 4 years after his semifinal placement in the illustration Grand Prix in the highly sort after Scarlet & Violet 151 set.

Aswell as illustrating for Pokémon TCG, Okachekes' work as also appeared in Pokémon Twilight Wings Web-Series as a visual development artist, as well as concept artist and set design for Detective Pikachu & the Mystery of the Missing Flan and The Adventures of Snorlax & Cubone.
Our top 5 Okacheke Cards
5. Tatsugiri - Scarlet & Violet - Base Set

The outright attitude of this little fish cements itself in our top 5. You just know they have had the best day.
We love the blue and orange clash of colour, mixed with Okachekes' signature blot style leaves us in love with this lil' ball of sushi.
4. Penny - Scarlet & Violet - Base Set

Okacheke has a special talent when it comes to lighting in frames, His lighting technique blends Pennys thoughtful moment together perfectly on the sunny afternoon.
3. Hisuian Sneasler V - Sword & Shield - Astral Radience

Again with the lighting... but more energetic and colourful! Hissuian Sneasler V blends energy and happy vibes with a peaceful day with splashes of colour on this wonderful full art card.
3. Arcanine - Sword & Shield - Silver Tempest
We only wish Arcanine got what it deserves and that this card was a full art... (Seriously Pokémon Company... give us Arcanine alt arts...).
Fierce and commanding, Arcanine with Okachekes' signature style is breathtaking to us.
2. Plusle & Minun - Scarlet & Violet - Paradox Rift
When card arts join up and tell a story, you know its going to be good. Unfortunatly not s great for minuns team and trainer... but we still love the joined up artwork when you place both cards side by side... It would be mean to pick one other the other so our second is a joint winner.
1. Flareon - Sword & Shield - Promo
Whats better than a Okacheke Flareon? A giant Okacheke Flareon. Nuff Said.
It's just so happy 🥺
